The Temple was burned when Jerusalem fell to the Roman armies in August AD 70.
This destruction made complete and final the break between the Temple and the Church and thus helped to establish the Church as a religion completely SEPARATE from Israel.
The Individual BELIEVER is a Temple (1Co 6:19). So also is the Church; but this Temple, unlike the earthly one, is equally accessible to all BELIEVERS (Heb 6:19; 10:20), now freed by CHRIST from the RITUAL LIMITATIONS of The Old Covenant (Eph 2:14).
